Farewell from Dr. Alexa Ortiz
Dear Clients,
Four and a half years ago, I joined Auburn Animal Center as a fairly new graduate out of veterinary school. Over this time, I have grown tremendously as a veterinarian and had the privilege of interacting with many wonderful clients who trusted me to take care of their precious pets and family members. Thus, it is with a heavy heart, that I have to inform you all that I accepted a position with another practice and will be leaving Auburn Animal Center as of September 2nd, 2022.
Over the past year, I have discovered my passion for emergency medicine and will be transitioning to this portion of the veterinary field at the Animal Emergency Clinic of Mid-Maine. This was not an easy decision; however, I feel confident that your pet's needs will be fulfilled in the caring hands of my colleague, Dr. Mandie Wehr at Auburn Animal Center. The hospital will continue to see dog, cat, and pocket pet patients, but unfortunately, we will no longer be able to see avian or reptile patients. Please be understanding with the hospital during this time of transition and know that we are working as hard as we can every day to meet the needs of our clients to the best of our capacity.
Thank you for letting me be a part of you and your family's lives. I have sincerely enjoyed serving you and look forward to continuing to serve the Lewiston-Auburn community in a different capacity. If there is anything that needs to be addressed before my departure, I encourage you to call and schedule an appointment with me between now and September 2nd.
If you have any questions about your pet's current or future needs, please do not hesitate to reach out to us by (207) 784-2000 or by email at auburnAC@yourvetdoc.com
Sincerely,
Dr. Alexa Ortiz
